    Centro de convergencia

    Desde 2021, IPS ha tenido un papel importante en la creación del Centro de Convergencia, un esfuerzo formado a través de la asociación del Ministerio de Salud Pública y Bienestar Social, COCODE, y Orazul para ayudar a fortalecer los servicios prestados en la Clínica Social en Parcelamiento Arizona. IPS ha colaborado en la labor del Convergence Center, incluida la renovación completa de las instalaciones médicas, proporcionando equipos médicos actualizados, servicios y recursos sanitarios adicionales para niños y familias, y acceso a vacunas para los habitantes de los barrios que rodean la Central Eléctrica de Arizona.

    Baloncesto recreativo local

    Sí, jugamos a la pelota. Y estamos llevando esa energía del IPS a la cancha con nuestro equipo de baloncesto recreativo. Como una forma de que todos los miembros del equipo de IPS -desde los que están en las plantas hasta los que están detrás de los escritorios- creen relaciones auténticas y significativas con las comunidades a las que servimos, nos hemos unido a una liga local para jugar mensualmente en los centros recreativos locales cercanos a nuestras plantas de Guatemala.

    Roberto Lopez,

    Founder and Vice President

    Roberto graduated with a Legal and Social Sciences degree from Francisco Marroquin University and an MBA from the University of Miami. His 27 years of experience in the energy sector began through his time at Enron Guatemala starting in 1995, first in the legal area and then in the commercial area. He went on to found Inver Energy for the development and operation of hydroelectric projects in 2001. In 2008, he successfully sold the company along with its generation assets to Duke Energy. From there, he brought a new vision to life, Inver Hidro, to continue the development of hydroelectric projects. Through the company’s development process, co-investments and partnerships were achieved with the IFC (World Bank), the Conduit fund, the Real fund, the Globelec fund, and Hunt Energy. In 2012, he left the development of hydroelectric plants and migrated to energy commercialization. In 2017, he founded the company Inversiones Nacimiento, which achieved records for the export of electricity to Mexico and El Salvador. In 2021, he brought this success to his partner Claude Hendrickson, with whom they bought Orazul Guatemala, which has grown into the IPS we know today, with the largest installed generation capacity in Guatemala.

    Claude Hendrickson,

    Founder and President

    Claude graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Alabama and received his MBA from the University of Chicago. He began his career working with Alabama Power and Georgia Pacific before founding Alabama Dry Felt, LLC and operating the company from 1992 to 2002. After seeing this venture’s success, he went on to found Dixie Companies, where he began extensive work in the EPC, demolition, and remediation markets before moving on to establish International Turbine Services, LLC in 2014, where he dove head-first into the energy sector by acquiring power barges in Guatemala and the Dominican Republic. In 2021, he founded International Power Services, LLC, through the acquisition of the assets of Orazul Guatemala, the largest power-producing plant in Guatemala. We see his vast experience and dedication to the everyday operations of IPS in his steadfast management of operations, bringing his deep knowledge of the technicalities of power generation and business through his time in the industry.
